Cleavie Wonder

Weekend Observations

Ladies and gentlemen, family, friends, and followers, the fantasy football fall from grace I predicted last week has become a reality.  In my trash talking league I got hit by the injury bug.  Big Ben and Beastmode both went quietly into that good night.  To make matters worse Carlos Hyde did nothing, and Golden Tate performed like his name was tinsel tate.  I can throw Flacco in there for the short term until Big Ben comes back, but I have no idea what t0 do about the RB situation.

In my hurt your feelings league I’m up by 4 points, but my opponent has Jamaal Charles going tonight.  No need in holding on to false hope, I’m going to go ahead and call this one a loss.  With Jeremy Hill still in the Marvin Lewis doghouse and Justin Forsett looking very average once again the running back situation is a concern.  I may offer up Brandon Marshall in a trade, but you didn’t hear that from me cause I’m not one to gossip.  There’s still plenty of football left so I will make the necessary moves to turn this frown upside down.  Wish me luck.  Here are some observations over the weekend.

Texas lost its 3rd straight game in heartbreaking fashion to Oklahoma St. 30-27.  Charlie Strong will not be back next year.  Let the Nick Saban rumors begin.

Utah beat the snot piss out of Oregon 62-20 giving the Ducks their worst defeat in 12 years.  The bad news is I jinxed Vernon Adams last week by hoping he would have a good season.  The good news is Oregon sucks so there’s a silver lining to the story.

With an 0-3 start to the season we know without  shadow of a doubt Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, and Detroit won’t make the playoffs.  Hoop season is right around the corner however so the fanbase in those cities definitely has something to look forward to.

Jordan Spieth won the Fed Ex Cup and collected a $10,000,000 bonus in the process.  The 22 year old Texan became golf’s first $22,000,000 man – a PGA tour record with just over $12,000,000 in prize money to go along with the 10 mil bonus check.  I guess the stay in school message has its exceptions.

Kam Chancellor returned to the Seahawks defense and the team won 26-0.  More on this tomorrow.
