Weekend Observations

The Seattle Seahawks had a bye this week which means Russell Wilson got a chance to rest up and get healthy for next week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.  That also means my starting quarterback was missing in both of my fantasy football leagues.  As you might expect I got my a$$ handed to me and making the playoffs (Jim Mora voice) looks like a long shot.  In my hurt your feelings league I did so poorly Cole Beasley was my leading scorer.  Eli Manning was terrible as my back up QB and I’m not sure he should be starting for the New York Giants.  Dude couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.  In my trash talking league Ezekiel Elliot ran over me and Derek Carr threw over me en route to a lopsided defeat.  Julian Edelman is the latest player to end up on my sh*t list. He’s done nothing all season.  I hope the guy chokes on a rotten piece of celery and misses the next 6 games!  Thank goodness the hometown teams are doing well or I might need therapy!  Here are some observations over the weekend.

Tom Brady became the 2nd quarterback in NFL history to throw for 400 yards in a game after turning 39.  It’s amazing the focus, intensity, and poise this guy showed after missing 4 games due to suspension.  TB12 might make the Hall of Fame if we overlook the fact he’s a cheater that compromised the integrity of the game.

Tony Romo should find himself a good realtor because his days in Dallas are numbered.  Dak Prescott is playing so well Romo won’t get his job back even when he’s 100 percent healthy.  Hopefully Miami and Chicago are reading this blog and putting together a trade package as we speak.

Jake Browning is a legitimate Heisman candidate after the Washington Huskies dismantled the Oregon Ducks 70-21 in Eugene.  Browning scored six touchdowns before Coach Peterson mercifully called the Dawgs off in the 4th quarter.  Too bad Oregon was expecting this kind of beatdown and basically conceded the victory weeks ago.  It would have been more enjoyable if Duck fans thought they actually had a chance to win.

Rex Ryan is a genius!  Firing his offensive coordinator has led to three straight victories after the Buffalo Bills defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-19.  Dare I say he’s every bit as good as Belichick this season.  Someone please tell Belichick I said that.
