The fantasy football gods have finally won me over. I now find it amusing to see what new and creative ways they will find to humiliate me in front of my family and friends. This week in my hurt your feelings league they allowed Mark Ingram to score 35 points and Matt Bryant to score 16 so I currently trail my opponent by 70 points. I do have Russell Wilson, Jimmy Graham, and Robert Woods going tonight, but what the hell does that mean?
In my trash talking league I tricked the gods by starting Colin Kaepernick (he gave me 27 points), but my opponent has Doug Baldwin and I’m only up by 9 points. Ordinarily I would feel somewhat confident about my chances to come out victorious, but there seems to be no end in sight to the misery I will suffer this season. It’s all set up for failure. Time to play the spoiler role I guess. Here are some observations over the weekend.
Manny Pacquiao won a unanimous decision over Jesse Vargas to win the Welterweight title. Didn’t this guy retire like 2 weeks ago. No one cares what Manny does until he gets back in the ring with Money Mayweather.
The Golden State Warriors bandwagon is getting smaller since the team has started 4-2 and the whole world seems to be turning on Kevin Durant. Not to worry however, the bandwagon will get full again in a month after the Warriors find their groove and steamroll the NBA. As my dad would say, can you give them at least 10 games to get their sh*t together?
The Washington Huskies demolished the Cal Golden Bears 66-27, but they will not move up in the polls. Because of the East Coast bias Ohio State will leapfrog them in the BCS standings. UW better win out if they want a chance to play for the crystal ball.
The Seattle Sounders eliminated FC Dallas 4-2 on aggregate to advance to the conference finals. If the Sounders win the MLS Cup I’ll shave my head!
